Cheryl Sesnon Receives Distinguished Leadership Award
Washington CASH is proud to announce that Cheryl Sesnon, our executive director, has been awarded the 2009 Aubrey Davis Award for Progressive Leadership from the Economic Opportunity Institute. Cheryl follows Bill Gates, Sr., who received the first Aubrey Davis award last year. Cheryl is very honored to receive this distinguished award. “I am extremely pleased and grateful to the Economic Opportunity Institute for this wonderful recognition. I believe that the work we do at Washington CASH is aligned with the goals of the Institute. It is critical, especially in today’s economy, that we work toward supporting and empowering those who are economically disadvantaged. Washington CASH does this by providing small loans and business training to individuals, which helps them gain confidence, credit, knowledge and assets. I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of all of us at Washington CASH.”
The Economic Opportunity Institute is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit public policy center advancing new ideas to build an economy that works - for everyone. We are thrilled that Cheryl received this honor and we’re especially grateful that she’s at the helm of Washington CASH, guiding the organization to continued success. Congratulations, Cheryl!
