How can Washington C.A.S.H. help to expand or start your micro-business?

Here is what we look for in a Washington C.A.S.H. Member:
- Are you focused on a single business idea?
- Do you have experience or training that relates to the business you want to open?
- Do you fall within our income guidelines? We serve low-income entrepreneurs - please see our income guidelines chart to find out if you are eligible.
- Are you at least 18 years old?
- Do you work well in a group?
- Are you starting a "micro" or very small for-profit business?
- Are you willing to listen and learn?
How Do I Get Started?!
Our program is divided into three phases:
> Phase 1 Get Ready for Business workshop: This free 4-hour workshop is aimed at the general themes to start and run your small business. At the end of the workshop, there will be the option to apply to our 8-week Business Development Training. The first step to get involved in the programs and services of Washington C.A.S.H. is signing up for an upcoming Get Ready for Business workshop.

> Phase 2 Business Development Training: In this course of eight weeks, participants work together with the trainers and business advisors to examine the feasibility of their business concept or to see how to improve an existing business. Classes are offered each quarter.

To apply for a space in the course you must have attended the Get Ready for Business workshop. If accepted, there is a sliding scale fee for the class.
> Phase 3 Upon graduation of the Business Development Training, you will have an opportunity to apply for Advanced Services. Our advanced services include loans, technology workshops, financial management classes, 1-to-1 business coaching, and access to the Washington C.A.S.H. legal clinic.
Thanks to the generous sponsors who believe in our mission, all of our programs are either free or very low cost. We do have income restrictions and do not accept people into the program who are above income category B in the chart below.
The Get Ready for Business workshop is free of charge. If you are accepted into the Business Development Training, there is a sliding scale fee due on the first day of the 8-week course. All Business Development Training students receive either full or partial scholarships to attend. Depending on your income, the total fee is between $60 and $100. Please see below for the sliding scale fees.
