Tammy James, Retail Operations Manager

As co-owner of Ye Olde Curiosity shop in Seattle, Tammy has been involved in retail business for over 30 years. She has a bachelor of science from City University in Business Administration with a managerial emphasis. Over the years she has initiated other retail ventures focused on local artisans. Her love of world cultures, travel and arts resulted in an inspiring trip to Thailand. Her visit to a remote village convinced her that fair trade can be a powerful tool for creating wealth, protecting the environment and ensuring social equity. She opened Ballard's first fair trade store - Market Street Traders - in November 2007 to further her mission of creating a market to end world poverty.
