Betsy Earl
Access to Markets Specialist
Betsy is Washington C.A.S.H.’s Access to Markets Specialist. In her multi-faceted role, Betsy assists C.A.S.H. entrepreneurs to advance their businesses by preparing their products for the retail or wholesale markets, connecting them with sales agencies, and assisting them directly to place their products in retail stores. In addition, she works in collaboration with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, creating marketing plans for clients with disabilities and working with them to advance their businesses.
Betsy joined Washington C.A.S.H. for two reasons: because she believes in the power of small business ownership, especially for individuals outside of the corporate model, and because non-profit organizations came to her aid during an early, vulnerable time in her life and their assistance left an indelible and meaningful impression upon her.
Betsy brings an extensive history in the retail and wholesale industries to her role at C.A.S.H. She worked for chain retailers in several capacities including store manager and apparel buyer. She then transitioned into the wholesale arena where she worked for national gift companies in outside sales. For over 15 years she was a business owner in the wholesale and importing sectors handling all areas of operations including sales and long-term strategic planning. To share her experience with C.A.S.H. entrepreneurs and help them succeed is one of the most gratifying experiences of her career.
Entrepreneurship runs in the family. Her grandparents were farmers and cattle brokers, her mother was a teacher and a small business owner, and her siblings are business owners as well.
Betsy holds a B.A. degree in History and a minor in Political Science from the University of Hawaii. Her studies have fostered her interest in travel, arts, cuisine, politics and world affairs.
