David Kirske, vcfo

David Kirske joined vcfo in January of 2009 as a Consulting CFO.

David assists his clients with budgeting, forecasting, board meeting preparation, general operations support, and strategic planning, along with the day to day finance and operating functions.

Prior to joining vcfo, David was the Chief Financial Officer of Helix Biomedix, a developer of bioactive peptides for both pharmaceutical and non‐pharmaceutical uses. At Helix, David was instrumental in equity financing and cultivating business development opportunities. From 2001 to 2003, David served as an independent financial consultant for several emerging growth biotechnology companies. From1999 to 2001, he was the Corporate Controller for F5 Networks, a provider of integrated internet traffic management solutions and from 1993 to 1999 he was the Corporate Controller and Treasurer of Redhook Ale Brewery. At both F5 and Redhook, David participated in several equity financings including the initial public offerings and oversaw the implementation of financial accounting applications.

An active member of the Seattle community, David served on the Board and as the Treasurer of FareStart, a job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. During his tenure, David participated in the capital campaign to finance, acquire and develop FareStart’s new training facilities.

David holds a B.A in Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound and is a member of the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers.
